Recently, I came to a sudden realization. The statement “living in the moment” may often come off merely as motivational words. However, I realize the smallest of actions can have tremendous results such as inspiring or changing other people’s perspective.
Take something as simple as singing or dancing in public, and someone happens to look over – a quick half a second glance. And for a moment, just think how that quick glance is enough to spark inspiration or joy within someone. And from that, they then take that seed and sow it somewhere else in the world.
Actions are very reciprocating. As humans, we like to emulate and aspire to be like those we see around us. The phrase “small actions create bigger changes” used to not hit me the way it does now that I’ve realized how living in the moment and being myself really can affect those around me positively.
In my personal life, there have been many instances where I have been inspired by seeing other people’s behaviors; from a conversation, to a friendly hello, or a smile. Realizing this has led me to continue to do more of this when interacting with others because I know how these slight actions affect me positively.
Moral of the story: Be yourself, because what fun would it be if we were all the same? The beauty lies in the uniqueness of those we see around us where we can learn, grow, and become who we are meant to be.
