The Lesson Behind the Burnt Tree
Today, I stumbled upon something. That was, seeing trees that have been burned still standing tall. This is a sight that may easily be overlooked, but a thought quickly sprung to my mind. There was something so beautiful and inspiring about this. The fact that these trees underwent burns and destruction, yet are still standing. I think we can learn something by this. Nature is not only here to be of sustenance, but to help us become wiser and stronger beings. Next time you’re out, and surrounded by nature, look around and observe conscientiously; you’d be surprised at how much you will learn. [s.t]

Maybe…
And maybe just maybe, the people will be grateful for the small things in life. Maybe this portion of isolation will change our minds and open our hearts. Maybe after this, we will see our minuscule, day to day problems as a pleasure to have. Maybe we will think twice about those who are less fortunate more often than we did before. Maybe we will see we do not need constant external stimuli which society considers we need. Maybe it will be a time where many will awaken from their long sleep. Maybe people will start to see, and really see. [s.t]

Patience
Do you ever have moments where you are applying so much tension to something, and on another end it doesn’t seem to budge? For example when something is stuck, you keep pulling and pulling at it but it won’t budge. Life is always throwing scenarios at us and I tend to see these moments as tests for practicing patience. I find this example, literally or figuratively, is very prevalent in many aspects of my life. From conversations, to situations, patience is something I have found myself practicing a lot more lately. We cannot control what happens to us, however, what we can control is how we react to things. Life…

Nothing Is Inherently, Bad?
Nothing is bad. Everything happens for a reason in life. Life is a lesson, and everyday we are given a lesson. If we are open to being taught, we can take value from what we experience day by day. If we just accept what is, and see what we can learn from the situations we are given, our lives may enhance. If we keep an open mind, we can get more out of life. The power of the mind is so strong simply if we allow ourselves to activate it. I am in no way saying we need to avoid sadness, or that situations that are bad, aren’t bad. My…

How Do You Want to Show Up in the World?
How do you want to show up in the world? This is a question that has been weighing heavy on my mind recently. Please take a minute to really digest that question and give yourself an honest answer. Because lately I’ve been experiencing life in ways I’ve never experienced before. I seem to be surrounded by invigorating, creative, and beautiful energy these days. I exude positivity, and in return, receive it back in the most humble ways possible. I’m so grateful to be alive. To be here in this day. To show up in this world and have the impact of inspiring and making differences in other peoples lives. Whether…

We Merely Live in Our Own Worlds
I don’t care how many likes I get. What I do care about though is what I do offline. There’s no issue with social media. The issue is created when there’s no distinction between online and offline. Get off your phone. Look up. Let’s really connect. Let’s talk to one another. Every time I look up, I see heads down, staring at a phone. As if we are limited by our capacity to venture out into the world to talk to one another. Hey stranger, tell me that book you’re reading on the bus. We cover up our normalized behavior of anti socialism by mere small talk; the talk I…

A Butterfly Learning to Fly
Wake up they say… “You’re living in a utopia” They don’t understand… They don’t feel… They don’t see me the way I know me. So vivid, so imaginative, so optimistic. She hides it from the world because it was never understood. Only misunderstood. Her visions for the world, her love and compassion towards others, only a select few get to see it, get to know it. She likes to feel loved. She doesn’t do well with rejection. She hesitates to avoid rejection. She wants to be free. She wants to blossom and bloom She’s like a butterfly. She’s in her caterpillar stage. She’s going to blossom as a beautiful butterfly,…

What if
What if one day all the birds dropped out of the sky, or if all the flowers bent down to touch the devastated earth. What if one day there wasn’t a sound of bees buzzing in the air? Would we do something then. What if one day there wasn’t but a star in the sky, would we all cry? Or would we just proceed like nothing happened, as that is the standard conformity of how we are already living. Just because we cannot see the immediate effects, does not mean they are not occurring. How many are crying now? The time to change is now. [s.t]
