Love Your Earth
“What we are doing to the forests of the world is but a mirror reflection of what we are doing to ourselves and to one another” Mahatma Ghandi. Did you know that in the past 50 years, humans have consumed more resources than in all previous history (EPA 2009). Most of the earths harm is anthropogenic. If we have caused so much demolition, don’t you think we can substantially slow down that destruction by learning how to protect our planet instead of continuing to harm it? Most people see the environment only as an aesthetic contribution to our lives here on earth, and to a certain extent, that is fine.…

Our Natural Environment
Whilst being outdoors, surrounded by the gorgeous forest, I had time to think; thinking about how harmonious each ecosystem can be. Acorns were falling from the trees all around me, and the species behind this were birds. Why would they drop these acorns? I then thought, maybe these birds have adapted to drop the acorns since they’re in a symbiotic relationship. After observing what the birds were doing, I thought even deeper. All organisms within an ecosystem work perfectly together, to uphold the habitat. That alone is so beautiful, and holds great meaning. As people, we’ve been slightly removed from nature. The World Around Us
Does the ocean speak to you like it speaks to me? Does it show you how calm it is, yet how strong it is when need be? Do you feel the energy a tree provides? The love it freely provides? After reading all of this, wouldn’t you think more people would want to be kinder to the beautiful world that is surrounded by us? [s.t.]

What if
What if one day all the birds dropped out of the sky, or if all the flowers bent down to touch the devastated earth. What if one day there wasn’t a sound of bees buzzing in the air? Would we do something then. What if one day there wasn’t but a star in the sky, would we all cry? Or would we just proceed like nothing happened, as that is the standard conformity of how we are already living. Just because we cannot see the immediate effects, does not mean they are not occurring. How many are crying now? The time to change is now. [s.t]
