Live Slow
Our world moves so fast. It has become so easy to be impatient and short-tempered towards people for being certain ways, but can we really? Deep down we all know we need to change systematically. Our society has engrained this fast living, “go-go-go” mentality, which leaves us wanting more and more, and instantaneously. What I say to that is to take some time to relax, sit back, and be one with yourself. We need it as a society, we owe ourselves to it. Children know how to live, maybe we can learn from them. They are so happy because they tend to follow their hearts and do what they love.…

Our Natural Environment
Whilst being outdoors, surrounded by the gorgeous forest, I had time to think; thinking about how harmonious each ecosystem can be. Acorns were falling from the trees all around me, and the species behind this were birds. Why would they drop these acorns? I then thought, maybe these birds have adapted to drop the acorns since they’re in a symbiotic relationship. After observing what the birds were doing, I thought even deeper. All organisms within an ecosystem work perfectly together, to uphold the habitat. That alone is so beautiful, and holds great meaning. As people, we’ve been slightly removed from nature. Nature is at the core of who we are,…

Human Interaction
Growing up, I felt as though I wanted to be affirmed more, to be validated. In more recent times, I am learning the most important validation is what I tell myself and how I feel about myself. I am also learning that since it is so important to me, I should vocalize what I find to be great qualities in others. I find that when someone tells me something positive it makes me want to try ten times harder to continue to uphold that quality. Lately, I haven’t been holding back in telling others the positive things I think and feel about them. And of course, these are things I…

The Philodendron Birkin
My favorite thing about repotting a plant is seeing how much it has grown inside of its current pot. Today I had the privilege of repotting and propagating one of my favorite plants – a Philodendron Birkin. If you have been on my blog and read my previous posts, you would know that I see a lot of symbolism and crossover between life and nature. Certainly, this Birkin was ready to be put into a new pot since it had a lot of bound root. I propagated the Birkin and it ultimately went from one plant to four smaller ones. What this tells me is that as humans, when we…

Small Actions of Change Lead to Bigger Results
Recently, I came to a sudden realization. The statement “living in the moment” may often come off merely as motivational words. However, I realize the smallest of actions can have tremendous results such as inspiring or changing other people’s perspective. Take something as simple as singing or dancing in public, and someone happens to look over – a quick half a second glance. And for a moment, just think how that quick glance is enough to spark inspiration or joy within someone. And from that, they then take that seed and sow it somewhere else in the world. Actions are very reciprocating. As humans, we like to emulate and aspire…

The Lesson Behind the Burnt Tree
Today, I stumbled upon something. That was, seeing trees that have been burned still standing tall. This is a sight that may easily be overlooked, but a thought quickly sprung to my mind. There was something so beautiful and inspiring about this. The fact that these trees underwent burns and destruction, yet are still standing. I think we can learn something by this. Nature is not only here to be of sustenance, but to help us become wiser and stronger beings. Next time you’re out, and surrounded by nature, look around and observe conscientiously; you’d be surprised at how much you will learn. [s.t]

Maybe…
And maybe just maybe, the people will be grateful for the small things in life. Maybe this portion of isolation will change our minds and open our hearts. Maybe after this, we will see our minuscule, day to day problems as a pleasure to have. Maybe we will think twice about those who are less fortunate more often than we did before. Maybe we will see we do not need constant external stimuli which society considers we need. Maybe it will be a time where many will awaken from their long sleep. Maybe people will start to see, and really see. [s.t]

How Do You Want to Show Up in the World?
How do you want to show up in the world? This is a question that has been weighing heavy on my mind recently. Please take a minute to really digest that question and give yourself an honest answer. Because lately I’ve been experiencing life in ways I’ve never experienced before. I seem to be surrounded by invigorating, creative, and beautiful energy these days. I exude positivity, and in return, receive it back in the most humble ways possible. I’m so grateful to be alive. To be here in this day. To show up in this world and have the impact of inspiring and making differences in other peoples lives. Whether…
