Don’t Underestimate the Power of Love
The Power of Love
Don’t underestimate the power of wind, wind can make the fire run.
Don’t underestimate the power of rain, rain can flood.
Don’t underestimate the power of a smile, it can leave you feeling warm inside.
Don’t underestimate the power of a glare, it can make one overthink.
Don’t underestimate the power of touch, it can heal or harm.
Don’t underestimate the power of positivity, it can influence.
I think much too often, within our social interactions, we do not treat them as if the words we choose, the actions we partake in have power and meaning. I believe choosing to be kind or evil is very well a choice. We have the opportunity to make that decision every moment of our lives. How powerful. How enthralling is it to have the beauty of free will. To choose to do good and to be good to others. Do you not see? Positivity can transmute darkness into light. But darkness, however, has the same impactful influence to repeat the perpetual cycle of hate. Remember, energy cannot be created nor destroyed, so try to keep that energy light.
Today, please choose to love your neighbors. To be stewards of the earth. To lift up the voiceless and underrepresented. And to feed the hungry. We all serve roles, big and small, how grand each of our roles are will be determined by you and you only. You have the power to choose between love or hate every single day. How strange, we do not see how constant interchanges can eventually sway a society one way or the other.
But let us try a quick thought experiment. Imagine you are always nice to others, constantly serving others, lifting others up. Now, imagine a group of fifty people doing just that. Surely, those fifty people know at least one other person. Quickly, that gets you to one hundred. And it continues to just web on. Because, remember, the person who was just influenced knows at least one other person. I am sure you get the idea by now.
Friends, live like today is your last, for tomorrow is unforeseen. For those givers, to the lovers, never change who you are; the world needs us.
Peace and love [s.t.]
One of my favorite books to exist, How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie. Such an influential and important book on how to treat other people that I think everybody should read at least once.
